This is quick and easy to do, preferably as soon as you have created a new project. Only once you’ve connected Steady to your website will the integration of various Steady features work (checkout, hover button, paywall etc).
Integrate using the Steady Code
This is a snippet of HTML code that you insert into the head element of your page (before the closing </head> tag). The Steady Code is generated specifically for your project; you can find the code in your settings.
Copy the snippet code and add it to your website. Maybe a plugin can help you. The "Header Footer Code Manager", for example, is a plugin for Wordpress with which you can manage snippets like the Steady Code.
Enter the URL of your website in your preferences and click Save. Done!
Now you can continue setting up your Steady page and add all the features you need.
WordPress
⚠️ Please note that we currently cannot provide personal support for the WordPress plugin.
If your website is hosted by Wordpress you can easily use the plugin we built especially for WordPress users. Add the Steady plugin to your WordPress blog, then connect Steady to your website in the plugin settings. You can find detailed instructions for this in the description of the plugin.
An orange button should now appear in your WordPress editor. With this button you can insert a paywall if you want.
Joomla
A Steady-Plugin for Joomla doesn’t exist yet. On Joomla you’ll have to insert the Steady-Code manually into the head-element of your page. Please note that with some Joomla templates it’s not possible to edit the code. Some templates allow this – but if they do, take note: Sometimes manual changes are overwritten during Joomla updates. Plugins may be able to help you in this case.
Jimdo
With Jimdo, you can easily edit the head. Just click Menu > Settings > Edit Head. Then, you can simply copy the Steady Code into the input field and click Save. That's it.
However, Jimdo also offers a feature that allows you to create a website with "no experience needed". If you choose to use this feature you won't be able to use the coding function and edit the head.
Squarespace
To edit the code of your Squarespace page, go to the settings in your Squarespace account, click Advanced and then Edit Code. Then paste the Steady Code into the first field (head element). To be able to edit the code you need a paid account – so you need the business or e-commerce package from Squarespace. Learn more in Squarespace's help article.
Wix
As with Squarespace, Wix users need a paid account to integrate Steady. Go to the settings of your website and choose Tracking & Analytics from the sidebar. Click on New Tool and then on Custom. Once here, insert the Steady Code. Finally, enter a name (for example "Steady"), select All Pages and Head and click Apply.
