Word of mouth is one of the most powerful tools in marketing, and at Steady we built our recommendation feature to help you unleash it.
Recommendations allow independent media makers like you to promote and support one another. You can promote the publications you recommend to your audience, and the writers of those publications receive a notification that prompts them to recommend you back. Below, we'll walk you through the steps to effectively utilize this feature.
Accessing the Recommendations Page
You can access the Recommendations Page in 3 simple steps:
Log in to your publisher backend account.
Navigate to the “Project” section in the left-hand submenu.
You'll find a new page titled “Recommendations”. Click on it to access the Recommendations settings.
Managing Recommendations
Upon accessing the Recommendations page, you'll see a subheading titled “Your recommendations”.
Existing recommendations are displayed in the table right below it, showcasing the title, custom description, and a falafel menu button for each recommendation
To edit a recommendation, click on the falafel menu button next to itn and select “Edit”. This will open a block where you can customize the description of the recommendation. Please note that the title cannot be customized, and it always coincides with the name of the project recommended.
Similarly, you can delete a recommendation, by clicking on the falafel menu button and selecting “Delete”. Confirm the action before you close the editing block.
Adding a Recommendation
Adding a recommendation is easy and you can do it in just a few clicks. Here’s how it works:
Click on the “Add recommendation” button.
A block will appear with an interactive input field for the publication title.
After entering the publication title, a recommendation preview will be displayed, including the publication image, title, and description.
Once a publication is selected, the description will be automatically filled in. You can further customize it as needed in the text area provided.
Click on the “Save” button to add the recommendation.
Important Notes
A maximum of 20 recommendations can be added.
The “Add recommendation” button will be disabled when the limit is reached.
