How to use Zapier to automate your day-to-day project tasks and integrate Steady with other services
Updated over a year ago

Zapier lets you connect Steady to 5,000+ web services. Automated connections called Zaps, set up in a couple of minutes with no coding required, can automate your day-to-day tasks and build workflows between apps that otherwise wouldn't be possible.

Here are some examples of how Zapier can make your work life easier:

5 helpful Zapier connections for your creative project

  1. Send a welcome email as soon as a new member signs up

  2. Receive a Slack message when a new member signs up, or cancels their membership

  3. Send a series of emails (often called drip campaigns) to certain users to slowly offer them more information about a project or product

  4. Add new members to a Google Sheet, keeping your data fresh up-to-the-minute

A note on Zapier’s terminology: Each Zap has one app as the Trigger, where your information comes from and which causes one or more Actions in other apps, where your data gets sent automatically.

What can be used as a trigger for Zapier?

There are many events that can set off an Action in Zapier. Here are some of the most common ones:

  • when a user signs up for a membership

  • when a trial member becomes a paying member

  • when a member asks to cancel their membership

  • when a membership expires

  • when a member cancels their membership, but reactivates it before the expiration date

  • when a member changes from one membership plan to another

  • when a member changes their name, email, billing address or shipping address

  • when a user subscribes to a newsletter

  • when a user unsubscribes from a newsletter

How do I connect Steady to Zapier?

  1. Sign up for a free Zapier account and log in. (Note: the Zapier free plan is limited to 100 tasks/month. See Zapier’s pricing.)

  2. Navigate to "Connected Accounts" from the top menu bar.

  3. Click on "Connect new account" and search for "Steady".

  4. Use your credentials to connect your Steady account to Zapier.

  5. Once that's done you can start creating an automation! Use a pre-made Zap or create your own with the Zap Editor. Creating a Zap requires no coding knowledge and you'll be walked step-by-step through the setup.
