Have you just launched a Typeform survey and want to import the contacts you've collected into Steady? Is your community sharing their contact details with you on an external platform? If you're collecting email addresses on a third-party platform, you can easily import them into Steady using our Zapier integration.
What is Zapier
Zapier allows you to connect Steady to over 5,000 web services. Automated connections, known as Zaps, can be set up in just a few minutes with no coding required. These Zaps can automate your daily tasks and build workflows between apps that otherwise wouldn't be possible.
Find out how to connect Steady to Zapier and explore the available automations here.
How to import email addresses into Steady
Thanks to our integration, Zapier can import email addresses collected from third-party websites or apps into Steady. This is completely GDPR compliant, and all imported users will receive an opt-in email to confirm their subscription to your newsletter.
Here's how it works.
First, set up a trigger in the partner app. You can do this in three steps:
Choose a partner app → Tell Zapier which software or platform you want to interact with Steady. For example, Typeform.
Set up a trigger → A trigger is the event that starts the Zap. Tell Zapier what the triggering event is in your case. For example, "new entry", which triggers each time a new form is submitted.
Connect your third-party app account to Zapier → log into your third party app account and complete the connection
Configure the trigger → Tell Zapier in which specific cases should the trigger work. In the case of Typeform, you will have to pick the specific form you want to connect to Steady. If you want the trigger to work for several forms, you will have to create several zaps
Test the trigger → Now that the apps are connected, just let Zapier test the trigger and you can move to the next phase.
Once you're done, you can instruct Zapier on the action it should take next. Here are the steps you need to follow:
Choose a receiving app → find Steady in Zapier's app catalogue and select it.
Specify the next action → choose "Add Newsletter Subscriber".
Connect your Steady account → log into your Steady account and complete the connection
Choose a Steady publication → tell Zapier to which Steady publication should it import the email addresses
Enter an email address value → in the case of typeform, you will need to specify which form field contains the email value
Test the Zap → This step is required. Don't worry if the test fails—this can happen if there isn't a real email address associated with the test, but it doesn't mean the Zap won't work.
Save the Zap.
That's it—you’re done!
