It’s easy to import your contacts from another newsletter or membership service to Steady. Importantly, it’s also secure – data protection is important to us and we are fully GDPR compliant. Once you’re set up on Steady, you retain the rights to your content and audience.

Importing newsletter subscribers

If your existing newsletter tool allows you to export your subscriber list as a CSV file, you can import them to Steady. Here are instructions for some of the most common platforms, but if yours isn't listed, don't worry – most professional e-mail providers support this.

The Subscriber import feature is currently available in beta. Once you have your contact list as a CSV file, head to your Subscriber list and find the "Import" button on the top right.

If the feature is not yet available for you, or if you encounter other issues, please reach out to our Support team who will help you move your contacts to Steady.

Importing members

If you already have paying members on another platform, we can also help you move them to Steady.

  1. Reach out to us with the URL of your current website, along with your email address. A member of our support team will be in touch shortly to help you securely migrate your contacts to Steady.

  2. The easiest way for us to process your contact list is using a CSV file. If you are able to do so, go ahead and export a CSV file of your subscriber list from your current newsletter or membership service. Ideally it will include the following details:

    • First name

    • Last name

    • Email address

    • Country

    • Date of opt-in

    • And if your contacts hold active memberships, their membership period (monthly or annual) and membership end date

If you haven’t done so already, go ahead and set up your Steady page. Then as soon as we are in touch, you will be able to import your contacts and start using Steady with your existing community.
