The Announcement layer lets you show a timely message to visitors on your Steady page and your website. Use it for event promotions, surveys, new content, or anything you want your audience to see right now.

Unlike the Newsletter and Paywall layers, the Announcement layer links out to a destination URL of your choice — a survey form, an event page, a crowdfunding campaign, or any external link.

The Announcement layer has two display options:

Halfscreen overlay — appears on the bottom half of the screen. Prominent without covering the full page.

Sticky footer bar — a slim bar fixed at the bottom of the page. The least interruptive option, good for ongoing announcements.

Keep the headline short and specific — tell visitors exactly what they're clicking through to. The description should add just enough context to make the CTA compelling. Your button text supports up to 24 characters — something specific like "Register now" or "Take the survey" works better than a generic "Click here".
