Steady’s free Canva and Figma templates let you create perfectly sized images for every part of your Steady page in minutes — no design experience needed. Every template is already set to the right dimensions: open it, customise it, download it, and upload it in your Steady backend.
Below you’ll find the optimal size and a ready-to-use template for each image type, from your logo to your paywall and announcement layers.
Three ways to get your image
Canva templates (recommended): there’s a ready-made template for every image type — open, customise, download, upload. All you need is a free Canva account.
Figma templates: all image types in a single file, for a more advanced workflow. A free Figma account is required.

How to use a Canva template
Open the template for the image type you need — the links are in the table above and in each section below.
In Canva, click “Use template”. You automatically get your own copy — the Steady original stays untouched.
Customise the text, colours and images. The dimensions are already set correctly, so there’s nothing to resize.
Download the image as PNG or JPG and upload it in the matching spot in your Steady backend.
Templates by image type
Logo
Required · optimal size: 200 × 200 px
Appears at the top of your Steady page and serves as a fallback elsewhere — for example, on your podcast when no cover art is uploaded, or in the small paywall.
Without a logo, a generic default appears instead, which isn’t ideal for your brand recognition.
Hero image
Optional · optimal size: 2048 × 512 px (4:1 ratio)
Shown at the top of the Memberships page of your publication. If you don’t upload one, no image is displayed there.
Tip: the same template also works for the thank-you page that members see after checkout.
Plan image
Optional · optimal size: 800 × 400 px
Shown in the checkout when supporters choose a plan. Plans also work fine without an image.
Paywall image
Optional · optimal size: 400 × 400 px
Shown on the paywall you embed on an external website. There are three variants:
Paywall — shows the paywall image
Paywall between text — shows the paywall image
Small paywall — shows your logo
Announcement image
Optional · optimal size: 400 × 400 px
Used in the announcement layer on your Steady page and on external websites. It comes in a large and a small version — see the demo.
Button
Optional · optimal size: 250 × 50 px
For promoting Steady on your own website. The template contains 32 ready-made button variants in different colours and wordings. More about embedding logos and buttons.
Gift voucher
Optional · optimal size: 950 × 550 px
Create a custom voucher to share with your audience when they buy a gift membership for your publication. The current template is designed for Christmas campaigns and contains 12 variants. Best practices for a successful gift memberships campaign.
Post teaser
Optional · optimal size: 800 × 450 px
The image for an individual post. Without one, only the title and text appear.
There’s no dedicated Canva template for the post teaser yet. You can open the hero image template and change the size to 800 × 450 px in Canva.
Prefer working in Figma?
All templates are also available as a single file in the Figma Community. Here’s how it works:
Open the link and click “Open in Figma” — the file is duplicated into your free Figma account automatically. Your edits only affect your own copy.
Customise the frames. The file deliberately uses standard fonts so it looks the same on every machine.
Export the frames as PNG and upload them in your Steady backend.
